Collin Hendley - "Tell Me Everything"
“My song is from my original musical, Brighter Than The Sun. This piece is about a young woman’s desires to experience a big and fulfilling life away from the small Southern town in which she was raised. I wrote this song when I had just graduated high school and was preparing to move to college. I was experiencing many of the feelings that this character feels at this point in the play, so I got to draw from my own personal sentiments as I wrote.” Collin (he/him) is a sophomore double majoring in theatre and entertainment and media studies. |
Sara New - "Lavender"
“I wrote Lavender when I was experiencing love for the first time. The song shows the progression of a relationship... the first feelings of infatuation and adoration, the heavier realizations about commitment and trust, and finally acceptance and happiness. I tend to write from lived feelings and experiences, which I hope makes my writing more personal and relatable to others. I’m very excited and honored to be working with this lovely cast and Next Act, and I hope that everyone enjoys Homegrown!” Sara (she/her) is a sophomore majoring in psychology and minoring in women's studies. |
Wyatt Brooks - "Love in Line"
“I work a job with the UGA Grounds department that often has me doing nothing but mowing a lawn from 6AM-10AM. The only thing I can do to keep sane is try to make up melodies that fit over the drone of the mower engine. From this “exercise” my song “Love in Line” was born, hence the pedal C you hear throughout the verses! This song is a goofy, comedic musical theatre song about a food service employee who is so in need of love that he falls for every customer he sees. I’m very happy with my song and so incredibly grateful that it was added to the cabaret! I hope you all enjoy!” Wyatt (he/him) is a sophomore double majoring in theatre and computer science. |
